The Daily Grind

 Besides coffee, I do not look forward to many things at 7am. Writing this blog has made my mornings a lot more enjoyable. Since it's inception, this page has primarily been a sports themed blog. I am going to mix it up a bit and start injecting pop culture topics and my daily life along with my sports plays. I am doing this because my readers seem to have as much an opinion about my culture references as they do about my sports plays. My audience is the acoustic to my voice. There is no reason not to sing from my heart as well as from my head. You guys will now get to read the complete me. The saying "Go hard or go home" is appropriate here. Hopefully, the daily grind of sports capping and living will prove an entertaining read. God knows living it has been a blast.

The last 2 months I have been hanging in New York. I live in Vegas, but my family and friends are east coast and the summers in Vegas make your spleen burn. T-Mobile is my phone carrier, and for some reason they do not have coverage where I am in New York. This makes contact with my clients quite difficult so I bought a Tracphone for the summer. Tracphone is a pay phone in your pocket without the need for quarters. Every time someone calls me I pay. Every time someone texts me I pay. Every time I get drunk and text random girls that aren't my girlfriend, I pay more ways than one. Tracphone has become the mistress I never had. If I do not keep feeding it money, it stops servicing me. If that wasn't annoying enough, my phone is the Flintstone model. The thing doesn't have a camera, cannot download songs (so "My Humps" cannot be my ringtone), and has old school texting capabilities. I had a girl flirting with me, and as soon as she saw my phone, she decided I was uglier then Carrot Top in daylight.

There is one good thing about Tracphone though. The thing gets reception EVERYWHERE. On a mountaintop I am covered. In a cave I am covered. That girl I kidnapped, she even got reception in my trunk (that actually was a bad thing). Here is my question. Why can't T-Mobile pony up some $$ and get reception like Tracphone? Maybe stop paying the guy in the glasses to yell "Can you hear me now" and actually make it possible to be heard! TMobile, let's make it happen.

Houston tries to earn a split in a 4 game series against St. Louis today.  Wandy Rodriguez is on the mound for the Astros, and has not looked good his last 3 outings. The lefty is 0-2 with a 5.50 ERA in those 3 starts. St. Louis has scored an average of 6 runs a game in their last 8 games, and averages 4.41 runs a game against lefties. Lefty Jamie Garcia is on the mound for the Cardinals. His 3.01 ERA for the season is solid, but the Astros actually have a higher team batting average against lefties than they do against right handed pitchers. The last 2 games have gone under and the odds makers have set the total at 7.5. For the Astros to split this series, they will need to score some runs, I do not see this game being a pitchers duel. Final Score Houston 7 St. Louis 5.  My free play of the day is Houston/St. Louis OVER 7.5 -105.
