Leave it to me to go ice cold when a heat wave hits the entire country. I don't even bother using an air conditioner anymore. I just look at my MLB plays and those give me the chills. I am checking out the total on the Minnesota/Detroit game today.When you have an ace on the mound (like Verlander) you tend to get a low run total. The line at -153 also assumes that Detroit will win. Detroit is 9-2 in Verlander's last 11 starts. Minnesota is 6-2 in their last 8 games as an underdog though. They are also 19-7 in their last 26 games. Verlander also gave up 5 runs in his last start to the White Sox. Now Pavano has pitched better as of late, but can we expect another solid outing against a very good hitting Detroit team? This game has the earmarks of a 6-5 battle with neither starting pitcher having their best stuff. Today, my free play of the day is Detroit/Minnesota OVER 7.5 +100
