Another crazy day in the NHL and NCAA Basketball. Our free play total hit (which was nice). Let's go back to the NHL for our FREE play of the day. The hapless Hurricanes are going to Edmonton to play the average Oilers. An exciting match up indeed! What makes it exciting to our readers will be the total! Edmonton tends to play teams coming off of a high scoring game quite well. The UNDER is 8-1 in the last 9 in which the team the night before had scored 5 goals or more. Also seems to be after a lot of rest the Oilers need some time to score themselves. In the last 8 games, the UNDER is 7-1 when Edmonton plays after 3 days of rest. Even though it has been 3 days, when Edmonton gives up 5 goals or more their last game (which they did) they UNDER is 11-3 in the last 14. From the Hurricanes perspective, they tend to play better defensively after a high scoring game. In the last 13 the UNDER is 9-4 after Carolina has given up 5 goals or more.
